Minecraft has never had a story, of any kind. It’s always been about making your own fun and coming up with your own stories through play. But this time Telltale makes a great narrative by adding Minecraft: Story Mode. Your hero will be teaming up with different characters and follow a path to victory just like in any other game.

You start off by choosing your character’s gender which can be male or female. Your party is led by Jesse which is you. Jesse and friends which include loyal meathead Axel and smart, self-confident Olivia, plus Jesse’s pet pig, Reuben. Are all a talented builders who will have to defeat the champs at the Minecraft convention EnderCon.

But on way to the EnderCon convention, a Wither is unleashed. Wither is a terrifying monster that threatens to consume everything in existence. So in order to save the day, Jesse and his team of builders realize they must enlist the help of the Order of the Stone. And so the gang sets out on the trail of the legendary adventurers. Marking the beginning of our Minecraft: Story Mode adventure.

As you play the game, different scenarios will arise where you would have to choose one option from three to clear the stage. You will have to clear puzzles and clear quick-time events. There is not a lot of building in this Minecraft version but you will be crafting weapons using the crafting table.

Most of the combat is timing-based. This means that you have to tap the button on time to land a proper blow. While most of the stuff will be taken care of with dialogue prompts, that can sometimes make the Minecraft: Story Mode adventure boring.

It is a good game to play for the Original Minecraft fans. And people who are new to it we recommend that you start with Minecraft: Pocket edition before playing the story mode.
